Fans at Dover Downs can attest to the fact that driver Corey Callahan and pacer Artstanding have been the hottest things since sliced bread in recent weeks at the Delaware oval.

Callahan, Dover Downs’ and the sport’s leading driver of 2013, equaled his own season-high of seven winners on one card. One of his victories was celebrated with the equally hot Artstanding, who recorded his seventh triumph of the season from just eight trips to the track.

It was the fourth consecutive victory for the 10-year-old son of Artsplace-Jasmine Hanover, who is a career winner in excess of $700,000. Dylan Davis trains the 14-time winner for Standardbred Ventures Inc of Merrick, NY.

Callahan kicked off his big day winning Race 3 with Toris Terror (1:56.1 - $19.40). He came right back in Race 4 with Cantabulous (1:58.1 - $10.00) and followed it up with a popular score with Lislea Miles (1:53.4 - $2.40) in Race 5.

He returned to take Race 8 with Hello Camie (1:57 - $5.80) and was back to take the checkered flag with Artstanding (1:53 - $3.60) in Race 10. He finished off his solid performance off-the-pace scores with Corky Duke (1:58.1 - $4.00) in Race 12 and U B (1:58.2 - $4.40) in Race 14.

Callahan leads all North American teamsters with 107 victories this season, and Tuesday’s success pushed him over $1 million in earnings in 2013. The Queenstown, Maryland horseman, who has notched more than 500 wins in each of the last three seasons, is 107 wins away from joining the 3,000-win club.
