Working out a similar winning trip from the same post five as last weekend, Queens Heritaj doubled up in the BBs Mirage Claiming Series on Sunday afternoon at Fraser Downs.
Driver J.F Gagne sent the six-year-old Tajma Hall mare to the lead in the $7,500 event, but gave way to favourite Pinepitch Cam and Jim Marino past the opening quarter. Queens Heritaj played follow the leader down the backstretch until rounding the final turn and shooting up the passing lane to prevail by half a length in a career-best equalling 1:55.3. Pinepitch Cam settled for second while Luvinajiffy and John Abbott followed two and three-quarter lengths behind in third.
Queens Heritaj was trained by Marjorie Dumont for owner Carl Warnaar of Kelowna, B.C. before being claimed from the second leg of the series for $12,500 by Keith Clark, Doris McDougall, and Verne Rea.
The winner paid $10.30 as the 4-1 fourth choice.
