You would think that after breaking a total of 24 ribs, shattering your left collar bone three times and your right collar bone six times that you would consider giving up participation in horse races, right?
Wrong.
According to a report by The Telegraph, British jockey Choc Thornton, 33, has been involved in 367 career racing accidents, the most recent being a fall at Hereford which occurred this past December.
"All jockeys expect to take a fall and be sat out once in a while. But I think --- well, hope --- I have probably had my fair share for now," Thornton was quoted as saying.
"I haven't thought about giving up and the day I do will be the day I retire. You can't ride with thoughts like that in your head."
