This past Friday (February 9), conditioner Vincent Fusco Jr. collected his 1,000th career training triumph.
He reached the milestone when Nancy Malinda – who was steered by Brett Miller and is owned by FBP Stable and Jordan Derue – captured the sixth race on the Freehold Raceway card.
A resident of Manalapan, NJ, Fusco's roots run deep in harness racing. In fact, his uncle, Vincent Ginsburg, and he annexed the leading driver and trainer titles in 2015 at Freehold Raceway.
Over the course of his career, Fusco’s pupils have banked more than $9.3 million in purse earnings out on the racetrack. He is a veritable fixture on the Garden State circuit, as well as Yonkers Raceway and Meadowlands. He commenced his career in 1991.
