Some of Western Canada's elite pilots will be going full bore Saturday, February 26 at Fraser Downs during the Western Regional Driving Championship. In true horsemen style, the classy reinsman will be keeping those less fortunate in mind

The Fraser Downs publicity department has announced that the eight pilots participating in the championship will be donating their driving fees from the event to the Surrey Association for Community Living in the Cloverdale/Surrey area.

Fraser Downs GM Ken Stratton and Fraser Downs Director of Racing Jackson Wittup have also confirmed that the track will be matching the drivers' contributions.

Drivers Jim Marino, Dave Hudon and Mike Hennessy will be playing the role of hometown heroes against Alberta’s Keith Clark, Gerry Hudon and Brandon Campbell. Glenn LeDrew will be representing the province of Saskatchewan and Dallas McGee for Manitoba.

On February 26, the top two drivers from the eight-race competition will join Atlantic Regional Representatives Ken Arsenault and Gilles Barrieau as they advance to the 2011 National Driving Championship, scheduled for Saturday, May 7 at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at Charlottetown Driving Park.

The winner of the NDC will represent Canada in the 2011 World Driving Championship hosted by the United States from July 31 to August 5.
