FL Barrel Racing Issue In News Again

It has been reported that on Tuesday, February 4 the First District Court of Appeal in Florida ruled that the decision by state regulators to issue a pari-mutuel licence for barrel racing was a misuse of rule-making powers.

The news comes courtesy of a report by the Tampa Bay Times. The article cites the court’s ruling as saying that, “… the narrow issue in this case is whether the (Florida Division of Pari-Mutuel Wagering’s) policy of treating barrel match racing as an authorized form of quarter horse racing is an unadopted rule.”

The report has listed responses to the ruling from The United Florida Horsemen and the North Florida Horsemen’s Association.
