Majorca N returned to her winning form and took the $25,000 Fillies & Mares Open Pace at Bally’s Dover on Wednesday night (Feb. 1).
Majorca N and driver Corey Callahan outpaced Shes Pukka N from the start and surged to the front, reaching the quarter in :27.4 The 4-5 betting favourite, Majorca N continued unchallenged on the lead and reached the half in :56.3.
The pacing mares started to pair up down the backstretch as Incaseyoudidntknow moved off the rail from third and sprinted first-over with Feeling Sweet and Divine Deo following the outside flow. Incaseyoudidntknow challenged Majorica N as they raced side by side to the three-quarters in 1:24.3, but she could not sustain that bid and Feeling Sweet circled three-wide in full attack mode entering the stretch. However, Majorca N was too powerful and went on to win by a measured length in 1:52.2. Feeling Sweet finished second and Incaseyoudidntknow was third.
Majorca N paid $3.60 for the win.
