Blue Chip Sunshine went to the front and didn’t look back en route to a solid score in Sunday’s $7,000 Horses & Geldings Preferred at Flamboro Downs.
James MacDonald hustled Blue Chip Sunshine, who was sent off as the 1/5 favourite, to the lead and together they led the field through fractions of :29.3, :59.3 and 1:28.3 before stepping home in :30.1 for the 1:58.4 triumph over Lucky King and Lucky Nadotremblay.
It was the second straight win for the six-year-old son of American Ideal-Sunshine State. Ken Oliver of Hamilton, Ontario owns and trains the 10-time winner, who now boasts a 2-0-0 record in his first three starts of the season. He’s quickly closing in on $100,000 in lifetime earnings.
Officials from Flamboro Downs would like to advise fans the Flamboro Downs Teletheatre will be closed Monday before reopening on Tuesday.
