Chinnys Wings stole the show on Friday night at Western Fair Raceway as he romped to victory in the featured $13,200 Preferred Trot for trainer-driver Doug Bowins.

Chinnys Wing established the lead from post three and fronted the field of seven through fractions of :29.3, 1:00.3, and 1:29.2 before cruising home for the 1:59.3 triumph. Logans Hero, who won the top trot class two weeks ago over Chinny Wings, finished one and a half lengths behind off a pocket trip with Alfie Carroll at the controls. First over challenger Bruce The Brave, driven by Tyler Borth, finished third.

Bowins also co-owns the eight-year-old Armbro Ricochet gelding, who has won 41 races lifetime while banking $344,862, with Donald Brinkman of East Coulee, Alta.

Chinnys Wings paid $3.60 to win as the favourite.
