After suffering a cracked pelvis in an on-track accident in November, driver J Harris is hoping for a return to the racebike sooner than his doctors have predicted.

Harris was driving Pretty Boy Cam on November 21 at Flamboro Downs when the pacer fell while in the outer flow. Turntherigaround and Scott Young collided with Pretty Boy Cam and Harris from behind.

While doctors have estimated Harris would be shelved until at least the end of January, Harris is aggressively trying to speed up his return date.

"I'm doing the hyperbaric oxygen chamber from Monday to Friday to speed up healing," said Harris. "I'm hoping I can be back in 2-3 weeks if the chamber works."

At the time of his injury, Harris was enjoying his second best season in the win column. His 116 wins was only behind his 145 win season in 2013 -- wins he achieved with twice as many drives. Harris, who turned 31 on Monday, had a solid 0.304 UDRS at the time of his injury.

Fellow horseman Anthony MacDonald started a GoFundMe page for Harris on Tuesday, something that caught the injured driver totally off guard.

"I wasn't aware of it until this morning!" admitted Harris. "He's always trying to help somebody."
