Sunny Dee shone in Wednesday night's (Dec. 8) Mares Winners Over/Select Pace at Dover Downs.
Bettors Heart N left alertly for the early lead before yielding to Feeling Sweet and driver Mike Cole, who waited for things to settle before gunning to the lead past a :28 quarter. Feeling Sweet set uncontested middle fractions of :58 and 1:24.1. At the top of the lane, Dexter Dunn confidently moved Bettors Heart N off the rail but started rolling late. Corey Callahan and Sunny Dee, who waited patiently in third, rallied to win by 1-1/4 lengths in 1:52.3. Bettors Heart N charged home late to finish second; Feeling Sweet tired and finished third.
Mike Hall trains Sunny Dee, a five-year-old daughter of Sunshine Beach, for Let It Ride Stables Inc. and Bottom Line Racing LLC.
Montrell Teague won three races on the card.
