Harness Racing PEI and the Charlottetown Driving Park Entertainment Centre have donated a table for four to the 50th running of the Gold Cup & Saucer in August 2009 for the online auction to support injured Islander and harness driver Kurt Hughes.
The package includes tickets and dinner in the Top of the Park dining room, Gold Cup & Saucer night, Saturday August 22, 2009. The lucky winners will also receive limited edition Gold Cup & Saucer merchandise.
Harness Racing PEI has also confirmed drivers competing in this weekend's driving championship at the CDPEC will donate their money earned during the competition to Hughes on Saturday December 13, 2008.
In addition, many Island owners have come forward to offer their purse money during the event.
