Goldies Rockin completed her sweep of the Pop-Up Series after she won the final worth $20,000 on Thursday (Dec. 7) evening at Woodbine Mohawk Park along with the two splits leading up to the grand finale.
Leaving from post nine, James MacDonald and the Richard Moreau student charged towards the front. Jackie Davis (Daryl Thiessen) achieved early pylon real estate on the lead, followed by E L Citadel (Ryan Desroche) and Goldies Rockin. MacDonald pulled his right line and sent Goldies Rockin to the top. She was the first to the half in :56 from the outside before clearing the lead on the inside. She set one more panel in 1:24.1 and then continued home to win by three-quarters of a length in 1:53. E L Citadel finished second and Share The Moment (Tyler Borth) completed the triactor.
Sylvain Cote and Robert Bernicky co-own the winner of seven races this season and 13 career races. The four-year-old Rockin Image mare moved her career bankroll to $98,232. Goldies Rockin paid $6.60 to win as the 2-1 second choice.
Feel Itinyourhands ($21.50) won the $15,000 Pop-Up Series Consolation from gate-to-wire in 1:56 with Phil Hudon holding the lines for Gaetan Hebert.
