The Nova Scotia Harness Racing Industry Association recently held its AGM in Antigonish, N.S. with Debbie Francis re-elected as Chair.
Ann Copley was also re-elected as Vice Chair at the meeting held on October 21, 2020.
The tracks -- Inverness Raceway, Northside Downs, and Truro Raceway -- all reported that they had a good year of racing taking into consideration the COVID-19 protocols that everyone needed to follow. Online wagering was up over previous years, reflecting the lack of sports that were available for people to watch during the summer months during the coronavirus pandemic.
Francis stated that “the recent announcement of upgrades to the Truro grandstand is a positive boost for harness racing in Nova Scotia and hopes that there are future possibilities for all tracks to gain from this investment in harness racing.”
