Shark Fest scored his third consecutive win tonight at Northlands Park in her $16,100 fillies and mares open assignment.
The three-year-old daughter of Cams Card Shark got away seventh as Stabilo (Kelly Hoerdt) and Kg Mist (Rod Hennessy) duked it out in a swift :27.2 opening quarter. Stabilo settled on top leading the field to the half-mile marker in :58 as Too Cool For U (Jean Francois Gagne) advanced on the outside. Meanwhile, Shark Fest was gearing up in the backfield and angled three-wide at three-quarters in 1:26.4. She blasted past the field of mares winning in 1:55.4.
Too Cool For U was the runner-up while Shark Fest's stablemate, Barossa (Gerry Hudon), finished third.
Clark trains and co-owns the ASHA Breeders Stake winner with Harvey and Anna Jaeger of Okotoks, Alta. The bay filly notched her 10th career win and increased her bankroll to $183,231.
The win was Clark’s third victory on the card. His pupils, Bold Beauty (2:03.3) and Bluebird Corvette (1:59), brought his yearly win total to 110.
