Significance ($7.90) rallied off second-over cover to capture Wednesday's (Dec. 4) featured event at Flamboro Downs, a $10,500 Preferred 2 Pace for fillies and mares.
Colin Kelly hustled Significance out of the back row and into fourth position on the first turn, where they stalked Tilikum (Tyler Moore) through a :28.2 first quarter before slipstreaming the cover of Sodwana Bay (Nick Steward) — who angled out from third — on approach to the half in :58.4. Up the backstretch, Significance tracked a :28.1 third-quarter duel between Tilikum and Sodwana Bay before Kelly pointed her three-wide at the eighth pole. The three-year-old Mach Three filly found her best stride upon cornering for home, and she was urged to a half-length victory over Tilikum in 1:56.1. Sodwana Bay held third, 1-3/4 lengths farther back.
Andrew McCabe trains Significance, whose 13 career wins include the $64,900 Kin Pace in July, for Glenview Livestock Ltd. and Cheryl Cherry.
