Jennas Pass proved to be fresh off a short break as she delivered as the favourite in the featured $12,500 Fillies & Mares Open Pace on Sunday at Fraser Downs

.

Making her first start since finishing sixth in the Open on Nov. 20, former $10,000 claimer and nine-race streaker Jennas Pass settled into third place under the direction of driver Gord Abbott while Jans Rich Girl (Scott Knight) fired to the front and carved out fractions of :27.2, :57.3 and 1:25.4. Abbott sent his mare first over as they approached the third quarter mark and collared the leader around the final turn. Jennas Pass then held onto her lead down the stretch to win in 1:55 flat by three-quarters of a length over Legal Suspensory (Dave Hudon), who tracked her cover. Pocket-sitter Red Star Dana (Serge Masse) finished one length back in third.

Trainer Keith Clark, MacPherson Standardbreds and Verne Rea share ownership of the mare, who strung together nine consecutive wins just a few starts back including a victory in the Miss Cloverdale. The daughter of Freedoms Pass and Presidential Jenna has now won 12 of her 23 starts as a five-year-old and the lion's share of the purse pushed her seasonal earnings to $68,910.

Jennas Pass paid $3 to win as the heavy 1-2 favourite.
