The Davids Dominate At Fraser

Horsemen David McKellar and David Hudon dominated Fraser Downs' 11-dash harness racing card on Friday night, winning three races apiece

McKellar trainees Red Star Governor ($16.90), A Midnight Promise ($14.80) and Garden Gate Ll ($14) each upset their respective assignments.

Garden Gate Ll is now three-for-three while racing under McKellar's care. The five-year-old Lotta Soul gelding romped to a 10 length victory in his Nov. 11 start for McKellar before he was claimed. The pacer recently returned to his stable to win two in a row -- his latest rallying from last to prevail by a neck in a five-horse finish. Eight-year-old As Promised mare A Midnight Promise also earned her second win in a row off a pocket trip for McKellar. Both pacers are owned by Donald Young of Surrey. The front-stepping Red Star Governor, an eight-year-old son of Presidential Ball, has won three of his five starts since McKellar acquired him in November.

The training triple pushed McKellar's 2011 win total to 41 while his earnings climbed to more than $211,000. On the driving side, 2011 has been a career year for the Langley horseman, who has visited the winner's circle 58 times.

Surrey horseman Hudon scored his wins with upsetter Chica Caliente ($23.30), and the popular Jay Force ($4.20) and Alotta Crackers ($3.20).

Chica Caliente, a four-year-old Lo Siento mare owned by Kelly Hudon of Surrey, prevailed by a neck to earn her third win in eight starts since joining Hudon's outfit at the end of October. Three-year-old Youdontknowjack filly Jay Force earned her second consecutive win off a two-hole trip for owner Bill Boden of Vancouver while the Shale Stables' four-year-old Camcracker mare Alotta Crackers romped to a four and a half length victory to notch her first 2011 win in her last outing of the year.

Hudon has trained 45 winners while banking over $355,000 in 2011. As a driver, he has won 64 races.
