Crazy World and Willyorwonthe shared the Tuesday, Dec. 3 evening spotlight at The Raceway at Western Fair District as they each took home the win in their respective $8,000 conditioned class co-features.
Driven by Garrett Rooney, Crazy World romped in the $8,000 conditioned pace from post two. The Angela Carroll student got away fourth off the car and through the opening quarter in :28.1 before moving first over through the half in :58.1 and three-quarters in 1:27. Around the final turn, Crazy World achieved the lead and he opened up to win by 3-1/2 lengths in 1:56.3. La Sun Control (Austin Sorrie) finished second following the cover of the winner and Dows Up (Daryl Thiessen) rounded out the top three.
Crazy World (Control The Moment-One For The World) is a four-year-old gelding owned by Kathy Cecchin. He won his eighth race from 21 starts this year and has produced $60,614 in seasonal earnings. In his 40-start career, Crazy World has banked $120,729 from a record of 17-11-4. He paid $4 to win.
Willyorwonthe made every call in the co-featured $8,000 conditioned trot with Travis Henry in tow for trainer Kyle Bossence. Leaving from post four in his field of seven, the Angus Hall-Mikestory gelding secured the early lead and never looked back through fractions in :28.3, :59.2 and 1:28.3. He stretched his legs and cruised home to win by a comfortable two lengths in 1:59.3. Heavy Dude E (Samuel Fillion) was second with April Duford (Robert Doyle) third.
Phil Maguire owns Willyorwonthe, who is a winner of five races this season from 20 starts. The 11-year-old veteran has $494,284 banked to go along with 56 wins in 247 starts. He returned $12.90 to win.
