Arizona made every pole a winning one en route to victory in the $11,000 Fillies and Mares Preferred Pace at Flamboro Downs on Thursday, Dec. 28.
Nick Steward and the Mike Timpano student took command of the field early from post four and never looked back as they cruised through panels in :27.1, :57.1 and 1:24.4. With enough cushion backing her throughout the mile, Arizona was able to comfortably pace home to a 1-1/2-length victory in 1:55. In The Mood (J Harris) finished second with Sports Duchess (Scott Coutler) third.
Wendy Warren Timpano and Herman Bardoel co-own the four-year-old Up The Credit-Jo And Maria mare, who moved her seasonal tally to 15 wins from 31 starts. In her career, Arizona has had 19 trips to the winner's circle and $117,320 banked. She paid $8.60 to win.
