The betting public was all over Hes Got Swagger in Tuesday’s $10,000 Preferred 3 for horse and gelding pacers, and the gelding lived up to the hype by virtue of his dominant score in the featured event.
Send off as the 4-5 choice in the six-horse affair, Hes Got Swagger shot to the top from Post 1 for driver Travis Cullen and together the led the field through fractions of :28.3, :58.4 and 1:26.3 before using a :28.3 closing panel to win by 3-1/4 lengths over J J Powerball in 1:55.1. Homey Joe was third.
The win was the sixth of the season and the 39th to date for the Jodie Cullen trainee. The six-year-old son of Vintage Master-Bubbles Promise, who is owned by A1stable of Dundas, ON has banked over $200,000 to date.
