After a pair of qualifying efforts at the end of November, four-year-old speedster No Control returned to action with an impressive effort during the last session of qualifiers of 2024 at Woodbine Mohawk Park on Friday, Dec. 27.
With first-time pilot James MacDonald at the controls, No Control sat midpack in third and unhurried as Tarquinus Hanover (Brett MacDonald) fronted the field through fractions of :28.1, 58.3 and 1:27.2 before tipping into the three path headed to the wire. With a :26.3 final quarter, No Control easily disposed of his rivals with a 1:54.3 effort. He was two lengths better than Silver Beast (Billy Davis Jr) with Bet Nineteen (Tyler Jones) next best.
No Control (Control The Moment - Dani Hanover) is a four-year-old gelding owned by trainer Tan Micallef along with co-owners Keira Liberte of Hagersville, Ont., Ian Clarke of Guelph, Ont. and James Clarke of Oakville, Ont. The nine-time winner sports a mark of 1:47.3, taken at The Meadowlands in a leg of the Graduate Series, with $353,111 in earnings.
