Gallo Blue Chip Scholarship For Fahy

Martin Scharf will present the 6th Annual Gallo Blue Chip Scholarship to Michael Fahy of Washington, Pennsylvania during the Saturday, January 7 race card at the Meadowlands Racetrack

. Fahy is the son of Bill and Moira Fahy and attends Marietta College in Ohio, where he is a double major in International Business and Asian Studies.

Fahy, whose parents campaign a stable at The Meadows, graduated from Trinity High School in Washington. He ranked in the top 10 in his class with a 3.98 GPA. At Trinity, he was a percussionist with varied responsibilities within the instrumental music department. He also was President of the National Honor Society and Captain of the Mock Trial team. He was the student representative to the Trinity Area School District School Board and was active in 4H, breeding rabbits.

"This is an incredibly generous way for Martin Scharf to give back to the sport and I am honoured and eternally grateful for the opportunity," said Fahy.

The $15,000 award, sponsored by Scharf in honour of his pacing gelding who won over $4.2 million in his career, retiring as the richest pacer of all-time, pushes overall Gallo Blue Chip Scholarship educational benefits over $100,000.
