Another week, another pillar-to-post performance from Hes Got Swagger.
Owner-driver Travis and trainer Jodie Cullen teamed Hes Got Swagger ($2.10) to his eighth Flamboro Downs win in as many starts over the half-mile oval in the Boxing Day (Dec. 26) feature, an $8,800 conditioned pace.
The three-year-old Vintage Master gelding sailed to a clear lead from post 3 and controlled splits of :28.3, :58 and 1:26.3 while chased by Machlicious (Scott Young) from a loose pocket throughout. Untested yet again, Hes Got Swagger coasted to a handy 1:55.3 victory while the ground-saving Bravado Seelster (Ryan Desroche) claimed second from Machlicious up the open stretch in the final yards.
Hes Got Swagger, who has not lost a Flamboro Downs race since the Cullens acquired him in September, has now won 15 of his 29 career races.
