Rachel Olivia turned back a challenge from Its No Secret to win Western Fair Raceway's Boxing Day feature Preferred race on Thursday afternoon for driver Alfie Carroll and local connections Daryl and Rasa Roberts.

With the inside post advantage in the $9,000 Fillies & Mares Preferred 2 Pace, Rachel Olivia quickly established the lead and carved out fractions of :28.3, :59 and 1:28.2 while keeping first over Its No Secret and Bruce Richardson at bay. The four-year-old Western Maverick mare widened her leading margin to one and a half lengths turning for home and held off the wide-rallying Lady Latte and Mark Williams for the 1:58.2 triumph. The pocket-sitting Insincerity, driven by Scott Coulter, finished third over Its No Secret.

Send postward as the 2-1 second choice in the field of eight, Rachel Olivia paid $6.60 to win. Favourite Greystone Ladylike and Ross Battin finished sixth after gapping cover.

The win was Rachel Olivia's second in her last three London outings and seventh in 29 seasonal starts leaving her 2013 bankroll just shy of the $50,000 mark.

Carroll was the leading driver on the 12-race program with four wins. He also scored with the streaking Vegas Strip Three, Hippie Chic and his own pacer Singin Blues.
