J.R. Plante put together a five-win performance at Flamboro Downs on Boxing Day, and in doing so he’s just one win away from enjoying his first ever 400-win season.
Plante kicked off the 12-race matinee at Canada’s fastest half-mile oval by winning the first race with the John Smith-trained Bold Arrow in 2:00.4 and he added wins with Indeman (1:56.2) in Race 5, Alana Bananna (2:01.1) in Race 8, Outer Drive Girl (2:02) in Race 9 and Stonebridge Royal (2:02) in Race 10.
The Burlington, ON horseman is in the midst of his best season ever for purse earnings ($2,642,390), and that’s helped push his lifetime earnings in excess of $12 million.
