Grand Circuit stakes-placed Wearinmysixshooter has been retired and will stand stud in 2023.
Wearinmysixshooter, p, 2, 1:53f -'21; BT1:52.1f-'21 ($325,030) will report to Winbak Farm of Maryland for the 2023 breeding season.
“He’s a really cool horse with a high turn of speed,” said driver Dexter Dunn. “He was very handy with a great attitude, a wonderful horse to be around and always gave his all.”
From limited starts, Wearinmysixshooter was a Pennsylvania Sire Stakes winner and second in the Metro Pace final and Pennsylvania Sire Stakes final. In 11 lifetime starts, he has three wins, three seconds and one third.
“Wearinmysixshooter was super-fast with a strong closing kick and perfect-gaited,” said driver Tim Tetrick. “He was always a pleasure to drive.”
The stakes-winning son of Captaintreacherous is from the maternal family of top stallions including Rockin Image, p, 2, 1:50.4; 3, 1:48.2 ($903,424), Heston Blue Chip, p, 2, 1:50.4f; 3, 1:48f ($1,779,373), and Sunfire Blue Chip, p, 2, 1:52.4f; 3, 1:48.3f ($1,649,833).
“Wearinmysixshooter, a promising young stallion prospect with a solid maternal family of millionaires including Heston Blue Chip, Sunfire Blue Chip and Kissin In The Sand, could be exactly the horse that the Maryland stakes program needs to strengthen itself,” said Jimmy Ladwig, Winbak Farm Yearling Manager.
Other top performers in the family include Kikikatie, p, 2, 1:51.3s; 3, 1:50.3 ($1,415,566), and the aforementioned Kissin In The Sand, p, 2, 1:50.3; 3, 1:47.4 ($1,852,427).
“Wearinmysixshooter is royally-bred on both sides of his family,” said Jack Burke, General Manager. “His maternal family is one of the strongest in racing and his sire, Captaintreacherous, is continually a sire of champions.”
Wearinmysixshooter will stand for $4,000. Visit winbakfarm.com for more information.
“Winbak Farm is excited about bringing in a well-bred stallion prospect to our main farm in Maryland,” said Burke. “We feel like the addition of Wearinmysixshooter, a great-looking son of Captaintreacherous, will strengthen the breeding program.”
