Dahlquist Hanover made it four-in-a-row after the Garry Merner student won the $11,000 Preferred Trot at Flamboro Downs on Wednesday, Dec. 20.
Power And Grace (Brett MacDonald) took the early lead and knocked out two panels in :27.3 and :57. Dahlquist Hanover and Travis Cullen landed in fourth through the opening panel before pulling first over en route to the half. He made his way into the lead on the outside at the three-quarters in 1:25.4 before continuing home to win by 2-3/4 lengths in 1:56. Power And Grace finished second with Marvin Hagler (J Harris) third.
Gino Toscani owns the sophomore gelded son of Walner and the Cantab Hall mare Dangle Then Deke. He earned his eighth win in 22 starts this year after going winless in eight races as a rookie. Surpassing the six-figure mark in career earnings, Dahlquist Hanover now boasts $103,087. He returned $2.50 to win.
