A trio of divisions of the Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund series for three-year-old pacing colts and geldings went postward Thursday at Dover Downs, with each division serving up a purse of $20,000.

Squeak On By (Nuclear Breeze-Sequoia Seelster) did just that with a late brush at the wire in 1:56 earning a new lifetime record for driver Roger Plante, Jr. and trainer Steve LeBlanc. Henrico (Montrell Teague) was second followed by Bags Of Interest (Jason Thompson).

Dr. Bill Solomon of New Freedom, PA bred and owns the pacer.

First State Joni (Delmarvalous-Jonigold) captured his division in 1:55.4. Driven by Barton Dalious and trained by his dad, Bart, the sophomore defeated Subban (Montrell Teague) and Spinologist (Mike Cole).

Frank Deliberti’s The Wiz Kids Stable LLC bred and owns the pacer.

Race favourite Downtown Show (Delmarvalous-Slow Down) captured the final division in 1:55.3 for driver Allan Davis and trainer Les Givens. Second best was Mr Overbite (Montrell Teague), with Zs Dream (Art Stafford, Jr.) taking home the show dough.

The Winbak Farm-bred youngster is owned by Henry Faragalli III, Arthur Feeney and Nanticoke Racing, Inc.

The second leg of the series begins on Monday (December 6) with three-year-old trotting fillies. Post time is 4:30 p.m.
