Ms Caila J Fra showed her class notching a 1:50.1 victory in Monday’s $21,000 Filly and Mare Open Handicap at Dover Downs.
Andy Miller got away fourth with Ms Caila J Fra before brushing the homebred to the front past the quarter pole. Once she cleared to the top she led the field through middle splits of :54.2 and 1:22.4 before using a :27.3 closing quarter to win by two lengths over Jeremes Sweetheart in 1:50.2. Spend It All rounded out the Triactor ticket.
The Fra Stable’s three-year-old daughter of Western Ideal-Calla Fra won for the seventh time this season. Steve Elliott trains Ms Caila J Fra who now has banked $255,358 in her first year of racing.
Ross Wolfenden led all drivers with four wins. Trainer Joe Hundertpfund haltered three winners while Ron Pierce had a double.
