Race favourite Sing Like An Angel had things her own way on the front end in Friday’s $11,500 Fillies & Mares Open at Northlands Park, but that didn’t stop Tajmeallover from tracking her down late en route to posting a 7-1 upset in the feature race.

Tajmeallover got away eighth for driver J.F. Gagne while Sing Like An Angel shot to the top and carved out panels of :27.2, :58.2 and 1:27. Gagne got his mare into the flow going to the half, and after tracking cover the mare made a three-wide move on the way to the three-quarter pole. She advance to fourth at that point in the mile before using a :28.4 closing quarter to win by 1-1/2 lengths over Sing Like An Angel in 1:56.1. Wrangler Rockette was third.

Gagne shares ownership on the four-year-old daughter of Tajma Hall-Watch Over Me with Peter Van Seggelen of De Winton, AB and Carl Warnaar of Kelowna, BC. Marjorie Dumont trains the career winner of $95,081 who now boasts a 14-3-2 record from 21 trips to the track this season.
