Preferred Win Gives Pacer Five In A Row

Intheblinkofaneye front-stepped his way to a two and a half length victory in the featured $15,000 Preferred 2 Pace on Wednesday night at Georgian Downs giving him five consecutive wins.

Driver Simon Allard capped off a four-win night at the Innisfil oval when he sent Intheblinkofaneye, owned and trained by brother Rene, to the 1:52.2 score over the 'good' surface.

The seven-year-old Cole Muffler gelding advanced from third to first after the :27-second opening panel and cruised through splits of :55.4 and 1:24.1 en route to his 20th lifetime victory. He paid $2.30 to win as the overwhelming favourite.

Mach It Big (Scott Coulter) advanced first over to place while Dreamfair Kovu (Tony Kerwood) edged out 78-1 longshot Lucky Terror (James MacDonald) for third.

With an 11-7-2 seasonal record in 23 starts, Intheblinkofaneye has added $143,800 this year to his bankroll, which amounts to $246,279.

The consistent pacer, who was claimed at the end of June at the Meadowlands Racetrack by Rene, has hit the board in 34 of his 48 lifetime starts, including 20 winning performances.
