Horse Escapes Raceway Mid-Race

It is not entirely uncommon to hear stories of horses not wanting to participate in live horse races. Some get fractious during post parade. Some misbehave behind the gate. Some unexpectedly jump it off mid-race. One thing which is uncommon to hear of is a horse actually bolting from the raceway, entirely, during a race.

Well, the rarity apparently happened Tuesday, December 18 at Ohio's Beulah Park.

According to a report by an NBC affiliate, a horse broke through a fence during a race on Tuesday and left the raceway.

The article explains that the horse was found roughly three hours and fifteen minutes later in the backyard of a local dwelling.
