Paul Roberts' homebred Jackrabbit Jody, who made his racing debut at age seven in late November, swept the field to win a $7,800 conditioned pace at The Raceway at Western Fair District on Tuesday, Dec. 18, remaining undefeated in five starts.

Away sixth through a :28.2 opening quarter, driver Andy Moore sat back as Sweet Ana Hanover and Goldinthebadlands, parked from the start, battled to a :57.4 half and 1:27.4 third quarter.

Moore angled the Santanna Blue Chip gelding towards the center of the course heading to the final turn and quickly pulled ahead of Sweet Ana Hanover turning into the stretch. Jackrabbit Jody then opened four lengths on Goldinthebadlands taking second and Macks Three, from last, closing for third.

Jackrabbit Jody, also trained by Paul Roberts, has earned $17,300 in his five starts. He made his debut on Nov. 20 at Western Fair where he won in 2:02.4 as the odds-on favourite. He won in a lifetime-best 1:59 on Tuesday night and paid $7.90 to win.
