Henriksen Trotters Are Perfect At KD

Trainer-driver Per Henriksen’s horsemanship was on display in full force Saturday night at Kawartha Downs as his stable went three-for-three during the 10-race card

Last year’s O’Brien Award winner for Horsemanship first guided three-year-old Andover Hall trotter Barnacle Boy ($9.60) to his second win in five starts in the second race. The Norwegian native later returned to the winner’s circle after teaming older trotters Cowboys Like Us ($4.20) to victory in the eighth race and Southwind Cruiser ($2.60) in the finale.

Henriksen also drove Perseverando ($2.70) to an open length victory for trainer and part-owner Ann Karin Larsen in the sixth race.

Henriksen’s pupils have won 79 times this season earning over $886,000. Lifetime, the trotting specialist has sent out 652 winners to bank over $10.3 million in purses.

As a driver, the resident of Norwood, Ont. has won 88 times this year banking over $687,000. Henriksen’s .385 Udrs ranks him fifth in the national drivers standings. He has reined home 958 winners lifetime to earn over $13.2 million.
