Le Fugueur, with Mike Stevenson the bike, blasted off the gate to grab the lead and helf off all challengers to win the afternoon pacing feature at Red Shores Racetrack & Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park
. The time of the mile was 1:58.1.
The Jennifer Trainor-owned and trained gelding turned away longshot Rebelryan for second while Last Art On Deck, who was parked the entire mile, finished third in the $1,700 event. That trio set off a triactor worth $605.65.
The five-year-old son of Omar Khayam has recorded three wins while never missing the board in five starts since arriving on the East Coast. La Fugueur has won six of his 30 races in 2011.
Dunmore Alpha and driver Mark Cullen won the $1,500 Open Trot earlier on the card in 2:02 with a one length score over longshot Katies Victory while Ginternal Revenue took the show spot. The win was the eight-year-old Black River gelding's eighth of the season in 30 starts for trainer and owner Edward Smallwood.
