Some Kinda Beach Wins Preferred

When stablemates Some Kinda Beach and Bestinthebusiness squared off in the stretch one week ago, Some Kinda Beach prevailed by a nose to earn bragging rights in trainer Paul Kennedy’s barn at the Meadows.

On Monday, the racing conditions were different — the pair battled in the slop — but the results were the same, as Some Kinda Beach again outdueled Bestinthebusiness in the $20,000 Winners Over $10,000 Life/Preferred Handicap Pace.

After considerable early skirmishing, Bestinthebusiness brushed to the front before the half, giving Some Kinda Beach and Eric Goodell the pocket. Freshened by that breather, Some Kinda Beach powered past in the lane to score in 1:51.2, two lengths better than his stablemate. Early leader Stonebridge Adam saved show.

Keith Pippi campaigns the five-year-old son of Somebeachsomewhere-Arts Fantasy, who now boasts $246,782 in career earnings.

Jim Pantaleano piloted four winners and Dave Palone three on the 15-race card.
