Add another accolade to the resume of trainer Ron Burke, who broke one of his own records on Wednesday
night at the Meadows.
In Wednesday’s $22,500 Preferred Trot, Burke's pupil Jessesjo got the jump on the field with a backside burst and went on to a comfortable victory giving harness racing's top conditioner his 318th victory in 2011 at The Meadows. The win bettered his own mark for most training wins in a single season at the track.
Jessesjo downed Rembrandt Spur, the 3-10 favourite, by 3-1/4 lengths in 1:54.2 over a “good” surface. Burke trains Jessesjo for Burke Racing Stable and Weaver Bruscemi LLC.
Tony Hall drove four winners on the 15-race card.
