Trainer/driver Travis Cullen stole the spotlight once again this weekend at Northlands Park, following up a five-win Friday night with four more trips to the winner's circle on Saturday.
It was a near-perfect night for the young horseman, who went four-for-five with starters from his stable. Cullen earned his first victory in the fifth race with three-year-old pacing colt Givemnotice ($3.50) and then started a three-race win streak in the seventh dash.
Sophomore pacing colt Counter Strike ($8.80) earned his second straight win since joining the Cullen stable while Outlaw Gunpowder ($4.60), the 2014 Western Canada Pacing Derby champion recently claimed by Cullen and Keith Hannah, and five-year-old pacer False Advertising ($7) completed his multiple-win night.
Cullen increased his lead atop the Northlands Park standings: 44 driving wins to runner-up Bill Tainsh Jr.'s 27 and 41 training wins to Gerry Hudon's 13.
