Moblessinsdinblues pulled off a sweep of the $34,400 Snowman Trotting Stake on Saturday night at Sudbury Downs with another front end effort for trainer Keith Jones
.
Fresh off a four length romp in his elimination last weekend over a very sloppy track, Moblessinsdinblues returned to the Chelmsford oval to wrap up the new claiming handicap late closer for $6,000 to $7,000 claiming horses.
With Mike MacNeill in the bike for the final, Moblessinsdinblues fired to the front from the inside post position and put up fractions of :29.1, :59.4 and 1:30.3 en route to the 2:00.2 score over the fast track. Ew Royal Pain (Paul MacLean) pulled the pocket down the stretch, but only made it within three-quarters of a length of the 5-2 favourite. Deputy Dylan (Jason Ryan) followed in third.
Moblessinsdinblues paid $7 to win. The seven-year-old son of Royal Strength earned his second claiming stakes trophy of the season after capturing the Barrie Ford Summit Series Bronze division at Georgian Downs on Nov. 5. He was claimed during that series for $6,000 by owner Douglas McCarthy of Holland Landing, Ont.
The win was lucky No. 13 for the trotter, who pushed his lifetime earnings over the $100,000 mark.
