Photo Finish Image Wrongly Interpreted

After Bettors Strike was declared the winner of a photo finish in the recently-contested Cranbourne Cup at Cranbourne Racecourse, the connections of the supposedly narrowly-defeated Ohoka Nevada objected to the merit of

the decision.

After review, according to an article by the Herald-Sun, stewards with Harness Racing Victoria today changed the result to a dead-heat, thus bumping Ohoka Nevada up from second place.

“In the end we not conclusively say there was a margin for Bettors Strike so we changed the result to a dead heat,” the report quoted steward Cameron George as saying.

George also said that he believed the ruling was the first of its kind in Australian racing.
