December 1, 2012
Dear Horsemen,
The New Year is just a few weeks away, and with it will come a new era of racing at the Meadowlands.
I look forward to getting to know all of you as I work with Jeff Gural and our management team to rebuild the Meadowlands as the sport's premier racing and entertainment destination.
Your support throughout the 2011 season was appreciated and we look forward to sharing with you the many exciting changes to come. Construction of the Bayonne off-track wagering facility is already underway, while our plans for the new Meadowlands grandstand also continue to move ahead. The track surface has been re-banked and we are confident this change will help make the racing at the Meadowlands more exciting and competitive.
The integrity of our live product is a key focus as we transition the racetrack from public to private management. Everyone looking to race at the Meadowlands in 2012 must complete the enclosed application. Please return the form to Racing Secretary Peter Koch by December 15, 2011 for consideration.
I look forward to seeing you in the paddock in 2012. Happy holidays!
Mike Newlin
General Manager
