Famous Mark had his two-race win streak snapped on Tuesday evening in Georgian Downs’ $15,000 Preferred Trot, and it was Shoeless White Sox who pulled the rug out from the race favourite

.

In rein to Jody Jamieson, Shoeless White Sox sat a pocket trip behind Famous Mark through fractions of :27.3 and :58 before pulling on that foe on the way to the three-quarter pole. They took off on their trotting counterparts and zipped by the third panel in 1:27.1.

Famous Mark had little to offer when called on by his pilot as the field turned for home, whereas Shoeless White Sox was just starting to do his best trotting. A 29-second final quarter was more than enough for the Murray Brethour pupil to post the 1:56.1 decision. Corkemup rallied well to finish second while Logan AAS grabbed third prize.

Shoeless White Sox, a four-year-old son of Mr Lavec-Northern Style, picked up his eighth win of the season for owner/breeder Chris Alexander of Aurora, ON. The OSS graduate is now an 11-time winner in his career, and his lifetime earnings sit at $179,368.

The victory was one of four wins on the 11-race for teamster Jamieson, who now finds himself just 27 wins away from eclipsing Mark MacDonald’s Canadian record of 739 wins in a single season.
