Galactic Storm ($16.60) was a pocket rocket on Saturday, Nov. 9 at Vernon Downs, blasting off after getting clearance to capture the $10,417 featured pace.
Fess Up N and driver Leon Bailey went to the front early with Galactic Storm and Jimmy Whittemore following in the garden spot. Fess Up N flew through fractions of :27, :56.4 and 1:24.4. As they made the turn for home Galactic Storm popped the pocket and motored right on by to win by three parts of a length in 1:52.4. Fess Up N was next best with PL Octavius (Truman Gale) in third.
Galactic Storm is a five-year-old gelding by American Ideal, owned and trained by Whittemore. It was the pacer's fifth win this season and 12th in his career.
Vernon Downs returns to live racing on Friday, Nov. 15 for closing weekend of the 2024 season. First post time is 3:05 p.m.
