Secretsothernephew made his first start for new connections a winning one in the $15,000 Preferred 2 Pace at Georgian Downs on Wednesday night

.

Leaving from the outside Post 7 in the ninth race feature, Secretsothernephew settled into fifth place with regular reinsman Sylvain Filion at the controls.

Meanwhile, Cole Diddy (Anthony MacDonald) tried to protect the rail during a :26.2 speedy opening quarter. The parked out Windsun Callum (Aaron Byron) took back into third while three-wide even-money favourite All Tiger N (Brandon Campbell) cleared to command in front of the grandstand. Cole Diddy, however, quickly retook the lead during a :30-second second quarter, but was faced with pressure as 42-1 shot Windsun Callum moved back out for more.

Windsun Callum advanced first over to take command down the backstretch and reached the three-quarters mark in 1:24 with 81-1 longshot Four Js Rustler (Robert Shepherd) and Secretsothernephew following his cover.

Windsun Callum opened up two and a half lengths on the field, but eventually faded to third as Secretsothernephew fanned wide and early trailer Just Asign To Me (Scott Coulter) went four-deep around the final turn and sprinted on by. Secretsothernephew prevailed by half a length in 1:54 over Just Asign To Me and paid $12.30 to win as the 5-1 fifth choice.

The four-year-old son of Camluck-Table For Seven was claimed on Nov. 5 at Woodbine Racetrack by Bradley Grant of Milton, Ont. for $50,000 and joined the stable of trainer David Green. He has won eight of his 33 starts this year for earnings of $112,010. The win was his 10th in 50 career starts and pushed his overall bankroll to $151,000.
