The Florida Standardbred Breeders & Owners Association (FSBOA) Yearling and Mixed Sale was held on Sunday
, Nov. 6 with 27 yearlings selling for an average price of $1,939 and 43 of the 66 cataloged horses selling for an average price of $1,443.

Florida-sired two and three-year-olds are expected to race for approximately $1.2 million in 2012 plus Breeders and Stallion awards. FSBOA expects to develop additional three-year-old racing opportunities starting in 2012 including the Stallion Stake, which will have three-year-old races. Monies previously earmarked for the Florida Bonus will be reallocated to existing Florida-sired stakes and new stake opportunities.
The Florida-sired program represents a valuable opportunity to race in a program where an average purse per eligible foal ranks with the better sires stakes programs in the U.S.
