With Jonathan Drury in the bike, 3-5 favourite Countess Stormont earned a shiny new mark on Saturday night with a repeat wire-to-wire performance in the $15,000 Fillies & Mares Preferred Trot at Georgian Downs.

The Post 4 starter fired off a spiffy :26.4 opening quarter and rolled through the remaining panels of :56.4 and 1:25.3 before coasting home for the two length triumph in 1:55.2.

Flora Dream (Scott Coulter) finished second off a pocket trip while longshot Ziggy Wiggy (Kelly Sheppard) came on for third.

Norm Jones trains and Stormont Meadows of Long Sault, Ont. owns and bred the four-year-old Kadabra-Lady Orbitex mare. Countess Stormont has won four of her last five starts at the Preferred level. Her 11th seasonal score lifted her earnings to $141,669. Countess Stormont has won 16 starts lifetime good for $278,764.

In other action, Canada’s leading trainer for wins (253), Rene Allard, scored a triple on Saturday's 10-race program. With brother Simon Allard at the lines, Literacy (1:55.4) scored in the first race and Dewys Place (1:55.1) and Altesse (1:57.4) won the fourth and fifth events.

Simon also drove an additional winner, Creme Fraiche (1:55) in Race 9, for trainer Richard Moreau.
