The six-year-old Rock N Roll Heaven gelding Jet Rock ripped off a pocket ride to a 1:53.2 score in the $10,500 Preferred Handicap Pace on Sunday night (Nov. 6) at Rideau Carleton Raceway.
Lovemyrockinbird set the pace through fractions of :28, :57.4 and 1:25.1. To the half, he endured first-over pressure from The Light Speed that persisted through the final turn all while Jet Rock had the wind cut from the slipstream for the mile. Driver Stephane Brosseau bolted through the open stretch with Jet Rock to nab a 1-1/4-length win over Lovemyrockinbird, with The Light Speed finishing third and Blue Moose taking fourth.
Isabelle Darveau trains Jet Rock for owners Ecurie CSL and Les Ecuries Dorleans Inc. He won his 27th race from 110 starts, has now earned $281,410 and paid $5.10 to win.
