The Jennifer Doyle stable came to play in the Sunday afternoon (Nov. 6) featured pace at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
The Earnscliffe, P.E.I. based Doyle barn finished first and second in the $3,500 Preferred Handicap Pace on the weekend program as No Plan Intended ($2.10) and driver Jason Hughes wired the field in 1:54.1 from post five. Stablemate Mantario sat last and rallied to finish second in line to David Dowling while three-year-old stakes graduate Stash It Away, driven by Marc Campbell, was third.
Doyle co-owns No Plan Intended (pictured above winning in September) and Mantario with partner Danny Birt. The duo also hold the ownership papers on race eight winner First Glance, who won off the front in 1:54.2 with Hughes in the sulky.
Campbell made six trips to the winner’s circle during the 10-race program. His Sunday scores were in the first race with Jetster ($4.10) for trainer Stanley Harper, race four with Catchme If Lou Can ($18.40) for trainer Ralph Sweet, race five with Premier Joy A ($4.20) from the Colin Johnson barn, race six with Painted Pony ($3.50) for the pacer’s 45th lifetime win for trainer Raymond White, race seven with his own trainee St Charlesfireball ($4.80) and the finale with Flowersonthebeach ($3.40) for trainer Jeff Wallace.
