Old-timer Fifty Two Finn notched the 52nd win of his career when he pulled the upset at odds of 15-1 in the featured $8,100 Open Trot on Friday night (Nov. 4) at Batavia Downs Casino.

Leaving from Post 2, the 11-year-old Movie Mogul stallion did it the hard way when reinsman Mike Baumeister pulled him first-over at the three-eighths. They reached the favourite and front-running Tuesdays With Mom (Jack Flanigen) up the backstretch and refused to go away, finally trotting past Tuesdays With Mom in deep stretch to go on to a three-quarter length score in 1:59.1. Manfromnantucket (Shawn McDonough) came on to be third.

The 2010 Batavia Downs Trotter of the Year won for the sixth time this season for owner-trainer Ronald Stebbins. Fifty Two Finn has earned $474,047, lifetime.

Racing fans are reminded that post time for Saturday night’s races has been pushed back to 7:10 p.m.
