Leaving from Post 2, the 11-year-old Movie Mogul stallion did it the hard way when reinsman Mike Baumeister pulled him first-over at the three-eighths. They reached the favourite and front-running Tuesdays With Mom (Jack Flanigen) up the backstretch and refused to go away, finally trotting past Tuesdays With Mom in deep stretch to go on to a three-quarter length score in 1:59.1. Manfromnantucket (Shawn McDonough) came on to be third.
